Bill’s ancestors were early pioneers of production agriculture in California’s Sacramento Valley. The family was among the first to commercially produce rice in California, along with wheat, hay & cattle. Growing up on the family’s farm, Bill learned to operate many types of agricultural and construction equipment. In the early 1980s, Bill was among the first in California to deploy laser-guided earthmoving equipment to survey and level the rice patties to rectangular shapes that dramatically increased yields while simultaneously decreasing production costs.

The family farm provided Bill with unlimited opportunities to enjoy outdoor activities in the heart of the Pacific Flyway at the north end of the famous “Butte Sink,” where Bill spent countless days chasing ducks, geese, pheasants, deer, and fish. Hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors are still among Bill’s favorite pastimes. Most of the former Schohr Ranch is now the “Little Dry Creek Unit,” a part of the Upper Butte Basin Wildlife Area. Bill is a Life Member of the California Waterfowl Association.

Bill has 36 years of experience in real estate brokerage, selling all types of properties in Northern California, from grazing lands in the foothills to rice and orchards in the Sacramento Valley. Bill is excited to partner as a Broker-Associate with the team of land specialists at California Outdoor Properties.
