Steve grew up and was raised as a third generation rice farmer in Yolo County, California on his grandfather’s ranch near Zamora. The ranch also had row crops, grain, sheep, cattle and hogs. As a young man, he exceeded in high school and college football winning awards such as Most Inspirational and All-State. Steve graduated from Cal Poly State University with a degree in Crop Science.
After graduating from college and farming with his Grandfather and Dad, Steve owned and operated a full service nursery with a maintenance and landscape division as well as a floral department and gift shop for over seventeen years. Steve and his wife, Kathie, were married in 2000 and have three wonderful children. His history of football and the love for the game led him to become a coach for his Alma Mater and his son’s youth football teams. After moving to the Tahoe/Truckee area, he became Head Coach of the Truckee Jr. Midgets and took the team to the highest level of competition in Truckee history.
Steve pursued his interest in business and began working for BTI, a Business Brokerage, in Reno, NV selling business opportunities. During 2013, he was selected Top Listing Agent in the Reno office and awarded Rookie of the Year Reno/Sacramento. Steve is licensed in both California and Nevada where he loves the outdoors. He enjoys hunting deer, elk, bear, pheasant, duck, chucker, and grouse. In addition, he loves to fish for mackinaw, trout, and kokanee salmon. He will hike anywhere to fly fish in a new area. He loves skiing at Squaw Valley USA and boating on Lake Tahoe and all of the surrounding lakes in the area. His family shares his passion for the outdoors.
Steve and his wife now own and operate a Home Care Business in Truckee. He says it like it is. He is honest and straightforward. He is excited to be back in the saddle again working with California Outdoor Properties helping others live their dream. Steve doesn’t just sell it, he lives it!
